At Premier Graphics, we are passionate about delivering projects that not only showcase our craftsmanship but also contribute meaningfully to the communities we serve. Our recent work with Liberty Construction Group on a new open-air structure for the Squamish First Nation is a prime example of this commitment. This project, located prominently on Squamish lands near the Lions Gate Bridge in North Vancouver, is as significant culturally as it is functionally.
A Facility with Purpose
This new facility, designed primarily as an all-season Sports Box, was created with lacrosse in mind—a sport that holds deep cultural importance for Indigenous communities. However, the structure’s versatility allows it to host a variety of other sporting events and community gatherings throughout the year. Positioned near the iconic Lions Gate Bridge, the facility stands as a beacon of cultural pride and community engagement.
Bringing Cultural Significance to Life
The design that adorns the sides of this large steel structure is a vibrant, symmetrical pattern with deep cultural significance to the Squamish First Nation. Visible from miles away, these graphics serve as more than just an aesthetic enhancement; they are a powerful expression of the community’s identity and heritage. Working closely with the Nation, we ensured that the design was not only visually stunning but also a respectful representation of their cultural values.

Leadership in Material Selection and Project Execution
Premier Graphics played a pivotal role in the successful completion of this project, demonstrating both leadership and expertise throughout the process. As noted by Todd Zukiwsky, Operations and Business Development at Liberty Contract Management Inc.:
“From the Contractor/Client perspective, we definitely saw good leadership from Premier through the final design and material selection process. Premier took the lead in utilizing their first-hand expertise to steer the project in the right direction by ensuring the designers specified the right materials for the application.”
This leadership extended to choosing vinyl over traditional paint, a decision that brought multiple benefits. Todd added:
“We saw less material waste with the use of vinyl vs. paint and a shortened completion schedule for this scope of work. We appreciated Premier’s scheduling initiative and clear communication.”
These decisions ensured that the project was not only completed efficiently but also to the highest standards of quality and durability. Premier Graphics utilized 3M’s longest-lasting vinyl and laminate pairing, guaranteeing that the graphics will withstand the elements while maintaining their vibrancy for years to come.

Enhancing Community Engagement
One of the most rewarding aspects of this project is knowing that the facility will serve as a vibrant hub for the Squamish First Nation. Whether for lacrosse, other sports, or community events, this space is set to become a focal point for gathering and celebration. The culturally significant design adds to the facility’s role as a center of community pride and engagement, reinforcing the connection between the land and its people.
Conclusion
Premier Graphics is honored to have been a part of this meaningful project. Our collaboration with the Squamish First Nation and Liberty Construction Group highlights the power of combining technical expertise with cultural sensitivity. As we continue our mission to create spaces that are both functional and culturally resonant, we are proud to have contributed to a project that will have a lasting impact on the community.
